Lombardia Aerospace Cluster flying over London
24 companies from the Lombardy cluster will take part in the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, scheduled from 20 to 24 July
The Farnborough International Airshow 2026 is back: one of the world’s most important showcases for the aerospace industry will open to the public on Monday, 20 July, and close on Friday, 24 July. The Lombardia Aerospace Cluster will be taking part for the seventh time in the biennial London airshow, together with the district’s major players such as Leonardo and, more specifically, with 24 companies, largely SMEs, representing what is, in terms of skills and production value, one of the most important aerospace supply chains in Italy and Europe. The sector counts more than 200 companies, around 21,800 employees, an annual turnover of approximately 6,3 billion euros and exports worth around 2,9 billion euros, equal to about one third of national aerospace exports.
In continuity with the internationalisation path launched in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Varese, the Cluster will be present at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 with its own institutional stand in Hall 1 of the exhibition, stand 1437 , within the Italian area coordinated by AIAD, the Federation of Italian Companies for Aerospace, Defence and Security. This collective space will allow international operators to come into contact with the Cluster and, more specifically, with 13 companies physically present with their representatives, projects and catalogues: Algra, Aviochem, Caast, CE2K, Gb Barberi, Isati, Italiana Ponti Radio, Merletti, Officina Malnati, Pariani, PMP, Servizi Confindustria Varese and Technosprings Italia. Alongside them will be the 11 companies with individual stands surrounding the institutional area: Aerea, Ala, AMM, Ase, Fimac, Jointek, Laga, Logic, Mecaer, Secondo Mona and Weisstechnik. This will be the Lombardia Aerospace Cluster’s presence at Farnborough, an event that will bring more than 1.400 exhibitors and over 100.000 expected visitors from 114 countries to London.
The companies taking part in the Cluster’s collective stand will benefit, this year, from funding provided by the Regional Programme under the European Regional Development Fund 2021/2027 of Regione Lombardia PR FESR 2021-2027 ( Action 1.3.1, “Support for the development of the internationalisation of Lombardy SMEs and the attraction of foreign investment. Call: Contributions for the participation of MSMEs in international trade fairs in aggregated form”). ).
The schedule of meetings of the Lombardia Aerospace Cluster at Farnborough will once again be busy and demanding. A series of meetings with delegations from other national and international clusters is planned. The Cluster stand is also expected to receive a visit from the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto and a delegation from Regione Lombardia composed of the Regional Councillor for Economic Development, Guido Guidesi, the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Lombardy Region with responsibility for International and European Relations Raffaele Cattaneo and the Director General of the Directorate-General for Economic Development, Armando De Crinito.
